Areas of Clinical Focus:
Depression and anxiety in young adults, particularly in high-achieving college and high school students
Women’s issues, including post-partum anxiety/depression and sexual abuse and assault
Relationship issues
Challenges faced by highly sensitive people, particularly creative artists
My Counseling Philosophy:
Effective therapy relies on three key ingredients:
The therapist’s skills and knowledge
The client’s readiness to do the work of therapy with openness to possibility and honest self-reflection
The ability of the client and therapist to build mutual respect and trust together.
My counseling style has been described by clients and colleagues as genuine, compassionate, and straight-shooting. I want my clients to feel deeply understood and supported as we engage in the challenging work of self-reflection and change-making. My hope is that clients who participate in counseling with me feel increasingly strong, confident, and grounded as they develop deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the circumstances they face.
